The movie, How the Grinch Stole Christmas starring Jim Carrey, was released in November of 2000, reaching a gross high of over $200 million in the U.S wholly (The Numbers). However, I feel that this version has over exaggerated the certain story, and I will back this up by showing many examples of how Dr. Seusss classic turned into a marketing, franchise frenzy.Dr. Seusss original fable is a simple story told with a great moral that criticizes the commercialization of Christmas. The original story features an Ebenezer Scrooge type creature that lives up the mountains outside Whoville.
